Congratulations 4K Graduates!

From the “Bug Hunter Award” to the “Future Comedian,” and the “Lawyer Award” (everyone’s right!) to the “Amazing Artist,” the graduates and their parents alike beamed from ear to ear as 4K teacher, Ms. Dorian Young, presented the Personality Awards. CCDC’s 4K Graduation was the usual gala affair with director, Sharon Hwu, and board president, Carol Wiley, welcoming parents and guests, and the capped and gowned graduates being presented as they processed one-by-one into the auditorium and onto the stage.

Sharon recognized former teachers Ms. Robbie and Ms. Sabrina, the 4K assistants Ms. Abigail and Ms. Andrea, and all the others who have worked with these children. She also thanked volunteer librarians, Gervais Emanuel and Barbara Allen, for their many hours of faithful service. Carol Wiley spoke about the very supportive and active board, reiterating that it is always, “all about the children.”

Parent Jennifer Mauldin, who has also volunteered faithfully doing creative movement activities with the children, spoke on behalf of the parents praising the director, the teachers, and the CCDC’s supportive environment and dedication. The program closed with Ms. Dorian directing the children in absolutely the cutest presentation ever of “The Three Little Pigs”! Then everyone enjoyed a wonderful array of refreshments furnished by the parents. The event concluded with gift bags for all the graduates and the traditional “releasing of the butterflies.” Once more we are proud to send an amazing group of very well-prepared 4K children off to the public schools! Good luck, graduates!
